South Shore Dance Alliance, a 501c3 organization, is a premiere performing company and dance studio in Northwest Indiana. Home to award-winning dancers, instructors, and choreographers, South Shore Dance (SSDA) was founded on principles of strong work ethic, outstanding discipline, technical expertise, and a love and passion for dance that is embraced by students, performers, and audiences alike. It was also founded on the premise that no aspiring dancer shall be denied access to training due to lack of financial resources.

About the Company

South Shore Dance is a pre-professional transitional dance company designed to encourage the artistic development of young dancers who are seriously considering a career in dance.  SSDA is a not-for-profit entity dedicated to enhancing the educational and artistic experience of aspiring young dancers in the Northwest Indiana area. SSDA has both junior (ages 7-11) and senior companies (ages 12 and up) which offer dancers real world performance opportunities and experiences.

About the School

The South Shore Dance studio is located at 201 N.Griffith Blvd., Griffith, IN 46319.  SSDA is a dance school and studio offering dance classes in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and pointe. In nine years of operation,  South Shore Dance has turned out students who have gone on to careers with well known choreographers and dance companies such as: Debbie Allen, Ballet Chicago, Alvin Ailey, Deeply Rooted Productions, Homer Bryant Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, The Juilliard School, and more.
